Dairy

  • We have a small herd of quality A2A2 dairy cows. Each cow was disease tested and negative on all of their tests prior to coming to our farm. They are holistically raised. We never vaccinate or treat with chemicals. They are rotationally grazed, given organic dairy mineral and organic kelp. They are supplemented with organic grains and legumes at milking, never corn or soy. Each dairy calf is allowed to live side by side with his or her mom until we ween them at approximately six to eight months old. The first four to six weeks they are with mom 24/7. After that we separate the calf from their mothers at night in a calf pen inside the pasture, so they are still in very close proximity to their mothers. This reduces stress on both the calf and the cow. They come into the milking barn in the morning with their mothers and nurse two quarters prior to me hand milking. I choose to do it this way because I feel it keeps both mom and baby happy which in turn keeps them healthy.

  • We are happy to share our milk when we have an abundance. We also feed it to our chickens and pigs to boost their protein.

  • Butter, Yogurt and Clabber Cream Cheese is available by appointment.
